Rum
Christopher Columbus himself introduced Sugar cane to Cuba
from the Canary Islands. By the end of the 18th Century Cuba was the
world's sugar reserve. During the 17th Century Locals and slaves used
cane syrup to produce fermented nectar. These first Rums sometimes called
Tafia, were raw, fiery and harsh- a drink for tough men, freebooters
and swashbucklers!
Havana Club can trace its origins back to 1878 when Jose Arechabala, the founder
of Havana Club, opened la Vizcaya distillery in Cardenas, on the Cuban Coastline.
Today Havana Club is the only truly international Cuban rum brand; from Europe
to South America. It symbolises the supremacy, tradition and passion of Cuban
rum.
Havana Club 15yr old is pretty much a myth. It is almost impossible to find,
and even harder to get. It is probably the best rum in the world and the Amber
Rooms is happy to present it to you! But be warned... if you ask to mix it we will
ask you to leave!

Brandy
What can we say? Remy Martin is a cognac made
from Champagne grapes, it is smooth, soft and delicious.
Remy Martin XIII, on the other hand, is a monster! The
highest quality cognac on the market today, it's undoubtedly
the world's finest.
It has always been a favourite
in the world of politics, fashion and art, and its connoisseurs
include Christian Dior and Elton John. Queen Elizabeth II was served
Louis XIII in Versailles Palace in honour of her 1957 visit to
France. Winston Churchill also toasted with it to celebrate his
election victory in 1951.
It uses grapes from the Grande Champagne
region. It is blended from 'eaux de vie' (water of life) some more
than a hundred years old, then it's aged in 'tiercons', barrels
that are several hundred years old, in a cellar set apart for it
alone. What does it taste like? It will take almost a week's wages
to find out!

American Whiskey
Jack Daniel's comes from the tiny town of Lynchburg
(population 361) in Tennessee, which remains a dry county
to this day! Every drop is mellowed through 10 feet of
charcoal made from sugar maple before going into charred
oak barrels for ageing. Jack Daniel's Single Barrel was once a privilege
reserved only for the Jack Daniel's Master Distiller. Jack Daniel's was
the first registered distillery in the USA in 1866.
Knob Creek is bourbon
created by Jim Beam's grandson. It is small batch bourbon and contains
a good kick!
Van Winkle is a rye whiskey. Until now rye whiskeys were
only aged for 5 years old or less. This 13-year-old rye breaks the mould.
It's the original aged rye whiskey. Flavours include cocoa, vanilla,
spice and white pepper.
